2. Joachim Heinrich LILJE was born on 5 April 1792 in Allersehl, Hannover, GER. He was baptized in Hankensbüttel on April 8. He was the youngest of three children. He died on 17 February 1845 at the age of 52 in Gerdau, Hannover, GER. He was buried in Gerdau on Feb 21. He was a farmer. Anna Dorothea Margaretha CARSTENS and Joachim Heinrich LILJE were married on 28 November 1820 in Gerdau, Hannover, GER.

3. Anna Dorothea Margaretha CARSTENS was born on 9 February 1798 in Gerdau, Hannover, GER. She died on 2 January 1844 at the age of 45 in Gerdau, Hannover, GER.

Catharina Dorothea Maria LILJE was born on 2 March 1824 in Gerdau, Hannover, GER. She was baptized in Hankenbüttel. She died on 29 July 1893 at the age of 69.

Johann Heinrich LILJE was born on 4 December 1825 in Gerdau, Hannover, GER. He died on 4 December 1825 at the age of 0 in Gerdau, Hannover, GER.

iii.

[Stillborn Child] LILJE was born on 27 October 1828 in Gerdau, Hannover, GER. He/she died on 27 October 1828 at the age of 0 in Gerdau, Hannover, GER.

iv.

Johann Christoph LILJE was born on 8 November 1830 in Gerdau, Hannover, GER. He died on 3 March 1835 at the age of 4 in Gerdau, Hannover, GER.

Johann Heinrich Wilhelm LILJE was born on 7 June 1836 in Gerdau, Hannover, GER. He died before 1912 at the age of 76 in Bohlsen, Hannover, GER.

Rev. Johann Christoph "Christoph" LILJE was born on 16 November 1839 in Gerdau, Hannover, GER. He died on 13 March 1912 at the age of 72 in Oak Harbor, OH. He was baptized on 24 November 1839 in Gerdau and confirmed there on 23 April 1854. He served in the Celle Regiment during both the 2nd Schleswig-Holstein War and the Seven Weeks War, and studied at the Mission Seminary in Hermannsburg where he was a part of the 8th Class. In 1872, he emigrated to the US after deciding to continue his theological studies at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from Capital University in 1874.

He was assigned as a vicar to Peace Lutheran Church in Galion, Ohio. There he met Katherine Eva Bühner who had (in 1873) come to the U.S. and was living with her sister in Galion. They married in Galion. According to his daughter, "He had sandy hair, blue eyes, and always wore a beard. Katharina had brown hair and blue eyes. Their son John Otto had blue eyes, but the other two children had brown eyes."

After completion of his vicarage, he was assigned the task of organizing a Lutheran congregation in the town of Port Clinton (near Sandusky). According to the website of St. John's Lutheran Church in that town: "Conversations were held about the need for a Lutheran presence in the developing town of Port Clinton and as a result, the congregation of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church was organized on September 28, 1875. Property was soon purchased at the corner of West Second Street and Jackson for $450.00 on March 12, 1876 and the first frame church building was completed in 1878. In April of 1878, the congregation was incorporated as an organized Lutheran congregation and The Reverend John C. Lilje [ed. the mission developer] was called as St. John’s first pastor. Pastor Lilje served here for eight years, receiving a salary of $300.00 per year. Pastor Lilje resigned on May 1, 1886 to accept a new call in Salem Township."

In the 1880 census his surname is spelled "Lelje" and he is identified as a Lutheran minister in Port Clinton, Ohio. He became a naturalized US citizen on 6 Oct 1884.

In 1886, he became pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, a rural congregation in Salem Township, southeast of Oak Harbor, Ohio where he ministered to this German congregation until his death. He died of peritonitis as a result of a ruptured appendix, and was buried in Union Cemetery on 16 March 1912.

Heinrich Friedrich LILJE was born on 13 January 1842 in Gerdau, Hannover, GER. He died on 25 October 1912 at the age of 70 in Barnsen, Hannover, GER.
